Regardless of which Daoist art one devotes themselves to, high level practitioners work towards the same result – DeDao 得道, attaining the Dao. The most important, yet most secret (and therefore widely missing in modern Daoist philosophy and arts) element of all Daoist studies is XiangFa 象灋, or applied imagery.
